The main focus of the lodge is on the communal area, which is made up of a beautiful old dhow which has been converted into a bar by the sea. Fumba Beach Lodge has a great infinity pool that smoothly mingles with the ocean behind it, and open air dining area and a large open sided bar.
As far as the rooms go, to the left of the main area are the 6 honeymoon rooms. Separated by well placed palms and baobab trees, all of these rooms have private access to the beach and large open air showers and baths. To the right of the communal area are the standard rooms and the deluxe rooms with garden views and sea views. The rooms themselves have been designed with luxury and space in mind.
With a new spa just installed, this is a great place to wind down after a safari or plane ride. Set in 40 acres of exquisite wilderness with three naturally sheltered beaches, Fumba Beach Lodge has only 26 rooms to ensure your privacy. The rooms are scattered throughout the extensive grounds, shaded by a forest of magnificent baobab trees and whispering palm fronds and cooled by gentle sea breezes.
A small and intimate lodge located a stone’s throw from Stone Town, this is a west coast lodge and so has a yellow, not white, sand beach.
