Fundu Lagoon is the epitome of a “bare foot paradise” with a distinct Robinson Crusoe air in a remote and peaceful location. It is a place for guests to relax and unwind in casual, yet stylish surroundings.
Fundu Lagoon fills a niche for top quality accommodation and food in an upmarket but environmentally sympathetic style. The rooms have very private safari tents under makuti and are in either a beachside or a hilltop position. They are decked out with hand finished chunky wooden teak floors and connected with ‘nature-trail’ style rustic wooden rope-banister walkways.
There are eighteen rooms, consisting of designer tents, set under makuti (thatch) roofs on wooden decks and each with a view over the sea. The rooms are equipped with large double or twin beds, mosquito nets, ceiling and standing fans, and indoor and outdoor seating areas. Each has an en-suite bathroom with fresh hot water shower, toilet and basin. The rooms are connected to the main buildings by wooden walkways or paths through indigenous forest.
Standard rooms are located on the beach or hillside. All have ocean views and can be provided with either double or twin beds. The open restaurant and bar at its centre inspires a sense of the height of casual elegance, all billowing white nets and makuti filled with a fine aroma of fresh coffee. Here guests enjoy a sumptuous international menu, with great attention to detail, while enjoying views of the beach and sea. Staff are immaculately dressed and always friendly.
Fundu Lagoon has a fleet of more modern boats for diving, snorkelling and water sports, and a fine catamaran takes guests out for the full day sailing and sunset cruises
