Meserani Snake Park provides an extensive campsite to relax after a dusty day in the bush. If you crave a shower, a chat to some fellow travelers from Brazil or Japan or a real Tanzanian ‘nyama choma’(bbq) then this is the right place. The campsite is fully equipped, providing both hot showers and clean washrooms.
The snake park itself is a fantastic site for seeing and learning about some of the world’s most deadliest snakes. It is home to a variety of snakes common to eastern and southern Africa including the black mamba and the African python. All venomous snakes are kept secure behind glass. Other reptiles that can be found here are monitor lizards, chameleons and crocodiles. The park also provides a home to some sick, injured and orphaned birds that would not survive if returned to the wild.
The Meserani Snake Park Bar has become legendary around the world. Hanging from the roof you will find all sorts of memorabilia, from t-shirts to bank notes. Every piece tells a story. Short walks and camel rides in the surrounding Maasai area can be organized.
The snake park is located 25 kilometres west of Arusha en-route to the Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater.
