Nowhere else on earth can you wake up among all the trappings of an elegant baroque chateau – brocade sofas, gilt mirrors, beaded chandeliers and paneled walls –and be instantly transported into one of the most famous African landscapes with just one glance out of the window of the lodge.
This lodge is one of the most opulent lodges in Tanzania. The exterior of the lodges is based on traditional Maasai manyattas(homesteads), while the inside is like a grand stately home. This lodge is a modern take on two old fashioned themes. Grand antiques, vast guilt mirrors and African art compliment each other beautifully, resulting in a contemporary, smart and almost theatrical atmosphere.
The Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, is actually three separate intimate lodges – North, South and Tree. Each has its own separate dining and lounge area, which helps to maintain a small and exclusive feel, even though the lodge has 30 rooms altogether.
The bedrooms are decorated using rich colours combined with opulent chandeliers and wood paneled walls. A fireplace sits in the corner and is lit in the evenings by your personal butler. This makes the rooms incredibly cozy and a beautifully relaxing haven after a long day of game viewing.
Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is located on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater.
