This itinerary takes in both the Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire National Park with stunning accommodation in both locations. Tarangire River Camp blends seamlessly into its surroundings and looks down upon the Tarangire River. Rhino Lodge is located in the Ngorongoro Crater rim and the sublime views have to be seen to be believed! Coupled with exceptional game viewing opportunities this is a great short safari option.

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha Town
On arrival at the airport you will be personally met and escorted a SafariHQ guide to your accommodation at Olasiti Lodge in the centre of Arusha Town. You have the choice to either unwind and relax at your accommodation, or you can explore this bustling small town at your own leisure. We recommend a visit to the Arts and Crafts Market, where you can pick up local handicrafts made by local artisans.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park
After breakfast you will be greeted at your accommodation by your SafariHQ guide who will brief you about safety in the parks whilst on safari. We will then depart for your first day of safari and make or way to the picturesque Tarangire National Park for an adventure packed day of game driving. This park is dominated by the perennial Tarangire River and is characteristically known for its giant baobab tress that stretch and wind their branches into the blue sky. The most spectacular feature of Tarangire is its large elephant population. In fact, it has the largest population of any park in northern Tanzania. These gentle giants abound in excess of 3,000. Tarangire is currently experiencing and elephant baby boom and you will notice a lot of juniors and babies as members of the herd. Also expect to see zebra, eland, mongoose, giraffe, bushbuck, hartebeest, dik dik, impala, warthog, reedbuck. Primates you may encounter are olive baboon, vervet monkey and bushbaby. Many carnivores are abundant throughout the park such as lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena and jackal. Dinner and overnights stay at the stunning pemanent tented Tarangire River Camp.
Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater
Enjoy a morning of game viewing in Tarangire National Park, we will depart for the spectacular Ngorongoro Conservation Area after lunch. Enjoy panoramic views of the Great Rift Valley as we make our way through the highlands. You will enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at Rhino Lodge. The grounds of this lodge are often visited by buffalo and elephant on their gentle nocturnal wanderings.
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater
Today you will enjoy a morning of game driving in the world famous Ngorongoro Crater. With an estimated 25,000 mammals, you are sure to be overwhelmed at the adundance of wildlife that exist within the crater at any one time. You are likely to see large herds of wildebeest, buffalo, zebra and Thompson’s gazelle. There are also large numbers of lion and spotted hyena resident in the crater so have your camera ready. The dense forest on the slopes and rim of the crater provides shelter for elephants. After enjoying lunch we will head back to Arusha where you safari concludes. You may wish to add one of our optional activities as your next destination. Maybe a gorilla trek or you may just like to spend a couple of days relaxing on the white sandy beaches of Zanzibar.
