Safari at a Glance
Day 1: Arusha
On arrival at the airport you will be personally met and escorted by one of the SafariHQ guides to your accommodation at the African Tulip Hotel. You have the choice to either unwind and relax at your accommodation, or you can explore the bustling town of Arusha at your own leisure. We recommend a visit to the Arts and Crafts Market, where you can pick up local handicrafts made by local artisans.
Day 2: Ngorongoro Conservation Area
You will be meet at your accommodation by a SafariHQ guide, who will provide you with a safety talk and a run down of the days itinerary. You will then enjoy a panoramic morning drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. En-route we will stop at Mto wa Mbu village. The village is considered a melting pot of various tribes from Tanzania. Try your skills at bartering with the locals to purchase curios. We will continue on our way to your accommodation at Ngorongoro Farm House, where you will enjoy a hot lunch. After lunch, you can relax and enjoy the lodge or you might enjoy a visit to the local orphanage, or a coffee plantation tour.
Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater
At Sunrise, we descend 600 metres into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. A breathtaking natural wonder the crater is one of the most densely crowded African wildlife areas in the world and is home to an estimated 30,000 animals including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhino. Animals that you may find in the crater include wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, and hippo. Large breeding herds of elephant can sometimes be seen wandering throughout the forest rim searching for food. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is the dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetah and leopard. Ascend the crater in the early afternoon and return to your accommodation at Ngorongoro Farm House.
Day 4: Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast we will be departing through the rolling hills of the Ngorongoro Highlands as we make our way towards the world famous Serengeti National Park . On the way we will stop at Olduvai Gorge to visit the museum. This world famous archaeological site contains fossils of our early human ancestors, thought to be over 2 million years old. From here, you will continue on a game drive that will take you over the majestic plains of the Serengeti National Park. You will be arrive at your accommodation at Seronera Wildlife Lodge in time to enjoy a hot lunch. In the afternoon you will enjoy a game drive. The Serengeti is Tanzania’s oldest and most popular park, also a world heritage site and proclaimed a 7th world wide wonder. The park is famed for its annual migration, when some 6 million hooves pound the open plains in search of fresh grazing. The Serengeti offers amongst the most scintillating game viewing in Africa. Expect to see great herds of buffalo, elephant, giraffe, topi, eland, hippo, leopard, wildebeest, zebra and much, much more.
Day 5 & 6: Serengeti National Park
For the next 2 days you will enjoy game drives in the Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti is perhaps the most impressive wildlife sanctuary in the world. These vast, seemingly unending plains are inhabited during the migration by enormous herds of wildebeest and zebra. Two nights at Seronera Wildlife Lodge or Lobo Wildlife Lodge depending on the location of the Wildebeest Migration.
Days 7 - 10: Zanzibar
After an early breakfast you will head to the airstrip for your flight to Zanzibar (via Arusha). On arrival in Zanzibar you will be met at the airport and transferred to the Z Hotel at the famous Nungwi Beach. Spend the next 5 days relaxing and taking in the sights and sounds of the Spice Island, Zanzibar. Relax on the beach, take part in one of the many activities offered by the Resort, go diving at one of Zanzibar’s world renowned dive sights or head on a guided tour of Zanzibar to take in the unique culture of the island. Whether you want an active holiday or just to relax, Zanzibar has something for everybody.
Day 11: Zanzibar to Airport
After breakfast (depending on your flight times) you will be met at the hotel by your driver who will transfer you to the airport for your return flight home. You may wish to add one of our optional activities as your next destination.
